Techniques for chin surgery

Chin augmentation requires an incision either inside the lower lip, or under the chin so an implant can be placed. Chin implants come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, and Dr. Horowitz will help you choose which is best to accomplish your cosmetic goals.

If the incision is inside of the mouth, the scar is invisible. When the incision is under the chin, the scar is often imperceptible, blending with the natural curvature of the face.

How long is recovery following chin surgery?

Tenderness and some discomfort are common after chin surgery, though any pain can be improved with medication.

It may take several weeks for the swelling to subside, but you should be able to see the results of your surgery within one to two months.
