How is eyelid surgery performed?

Blepharoplasty surgery consists of delicate incisions on the upper or lower eyelid, or both, to remove minor amounts of tissue or fat, and provide tightening to the skin. When appropriate, Dr. Horowitz performs lower eyelid surgery from the inner surface of the eyelid, thus eliminating any visible scarring. Complications with blepharoplasty tend to be rare.

Eyelid surgery is frequently combined with other facial surgery like brow lifts and facelifts, to complete your new look.

How long is recovery after eyelid surgery?

Blepharoplasty is one of the most dramatic procedures we do and with the least downtime and recovery. Swelling and bruising resolve quickly and pain is very minimal. Keeping your head elevated and using cold packs will help. Dr. Horowitz will prescribe a pain medication to alleviate any pain or discomfort. In as little as one week, you can be fully recovered and able to appreciate your new look.
