Arm Lift

An arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to correct excessive arm laxity and loose skin after weight loss or due to age.

During a traditional brachioplasty, Dr. Horowitz makes an incision along the inner aspect of the arm from the underarm to the elbow. Excess skin is removed and the arm tissues are tightened. This restores a more youthful appearance to the upper arms. With lesser degrees of skin laxity, a limited-incision brachioplasty is performed, limiting the scar to the underarm itself. Either of these techniques may be combined with liposuction to maximize the shape, size, and contour of the arms.

Thigh Lift

The thighs tend to lose their shape and firmness as part of the normal aging process. Also, the skin in the upper thigh region can become loose and saggy, especially after significant weight loss. Thigh lift improves the tone and contour of the thighs, giving them a more youthful appearance.

Brazilian Butt Lift

Buttock Augmentation using the patient’s own fat (aka the “Brazilian Butt Lift”) is a procedure exploding in popularity because it exemplifies the very essence of Plastic Surgery – transforming something that’s negative into something positive. During the procedure, fat is liposuctioned from wherever indicated (ie. the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs – even other parts of the buttock where it’s undesirable) and it is put back into key areas of the buttocks.

Liposuction is popular among both men and women who want to slim or reshape a specific area of the body. Liposuction is not a weight loss surgery and should not be thought of as one. It’s more helpful to think of liposuction as a sculpting technique that can create beautiful and natural looking curves.

Dr. Horowitz uses “Power-Assisted Liposuction”, which means less force is required to move the liposuction canula, thus decreasing postoperative pain and bruising compared to traditional liposuction methods.

Lower Body Lift

A lower body lift is a powerful procedure that can dramatically improve the contour of the flanks, lateral thighs, back and buttocks. It is often combined with other body contouring procedures such as tummy tucks and inner thigh lifts.

The lower body lift, also known as a “belt lipectomy”, removes the excess skin and fat from the flanks and back. This not only dramatically improves the contour to these areas, but the added bonus is the effect on the lateral thighs and buttocks, which are lifted and shaped.

This procedure is appropriate for plastic surgery patients with poor skin tone to the flanks and back. Patients with good skin tone, but with excess fat, would be better served with liposuction.

Male Breast Reduction

Male breast enlargement, also known as gynecomastia, is a very common condition that affects as many as half the male population. Although some cases are thought to be triggered by hormones, drugs, alcohol or marijuana use, the origin of the majority of cases is unknown. Men are relieved to learn that there is no association with this condition and breast cancer.

Male breast reduction surgery corrects the appearance of enlarged or overdeveloped breasts in men. This procedure involves the removal of excess fat, breast tissue and, in severe cases, skin, to restore a more toned, masculine appearance to the chest.

Massive Weight Loss

Dr. Horowitz recognizes that patients who have lost a significant amount of weight, either through bariatric surgery or diet, represent a distinct subgroup that have unique concerns in regards to body contouring surgery.

Typically, massive weight loss patients have a significant amount of inelastic skin associated with relatively little fat. This has significant technical implications for body contouring surgery. In addition, there are several medical issues in patients who have had bariatric surgery, including possible vitamin deficiencies, malnutrition and anemia.
